IMPORTANT CONSUMPTION INFORMATION
The FRM Cattle Supplement Block is fed free choice, therefore, consumption will vary depending on the quality and/or quantity of forage available to the animals, the condition of the cattle, previous feeding programs, type of mineral program being used and their feeding location. Cattle may need to adapt to FRM Cattle Supplement Block before the correct consumption is reached.
If consumption is low, examine forage quality and block feeding location.
If consumption is higher than desired, the quality and/or quantity of forage may need to be increased. If the forage is adequate, you may want to consider placing the Blocks further away from loafing or watering areas and, at the same time, reducing the number of Blocks available to the cattle.
CAUTION: Use as directed. Consumption of selenium should not exceed 3 mg per head per day.FEEDING DIRECTIONS
FRM Cattle Supplement Block is formulated to be fed on a free choice basis to beef cattle and non-lactating dairy cattle and growing heifers while they are grazing pastures with adequate fair to good quality grass and/or receiving good quality hay. Consumption of FRM Cattle Supplement Block should range from 1.5 – 2.5 pounds per head daily. If consistently high consumption of FRM Cattle Supplement Block is experienced, your feeding program should be examined (see IMPORTANT CONSUMPTION INFORMATION above). It is important that your cattle receive a high quality free choice mineral such as FRM Vitaminde Free Choice Mineral, FRM Wintergrazer Cattle Mineral, or FRM Elite Breeders Mineral while consuming FRM Cattle Supplement Blocks. It is important that cattle receive adequate forage from grazing, hay or green-chop prior to the introduction of FRM Cattle Supplement Block.
Cattle that are cleaning up fields that were planted in soybeans or other edible beans should not be fed F-R-M Cattle Supplement Blocks. Raw beans usually contain high urease enzyme activity which can cause urea to break down.
Do not feed FRM Cattle Supplement Blocks in conjunction with other NPN-containing feeds.
Provide FRM Free Choice Minerals and unlimited access to clean, fresh water while utilizing FRM Cattle Supplement Blocks.
Provide one 500 pound Block for every 20-25 head of cattle; one 250 or 200 pound Block for every 10-13 head of cattle.
Feed FRM Cattle Supplement Blocks near a water source or near areas where cattle loaf. On range or in large pastures, make Blocks available in more than one location.
If your cattle run out of Supplement Blocks, observe them closely for three days after restocking with Blocks in order to prevent over-consumption.
